Pastor Marcus Whitfield

Pastor Marcus Whitfield pastors a 1,200-member church in Detroit and has been leading worship since he was sixteen years old. The son of a Baptist deacon and a choir director, Marcus grew up inside the sound he now makes — Hammond B3 on Sundays, Commissioned and Fred Hammond on the family stereo, his mother's humming in the kitchen. He released his first album at 28 and has since built a reputation as a musician's musician, with a band that reads each other without charts.
